Established in 1998, the Advantage Group started with Advantage Products Corp., a distributor of prepaid phone cards for the leading telcos.  When the industry shifted to electronic delivery of prepaid products, the Advantage Group learned how to develop and maintain software platforms.  These new platforms made it possible for Ventaja to start selling telecom products to Filipinos living overseas (starting 2004).  Up to this day, the telecom business contributes significantly to the Group’s bottom line.

In 2007, the company expanded its services to collecting SSS contributions and loan payments from OFWs—another first.  In 2009 and 2011, Ventaja started accepting payments for Pag-IBIG and Philhealth, respectively.  Today, Ventaja is the Philippine government’s largest collection partner overseas.  Ventaja’s partner agents include top Philippine banks and remittance companies in the Middle East and Asia.

In 2014, the Group launched its bills payment platform after tying up with a bill aggregator in the Philippines.

In early 2018, PayRemit Shop was launched so OFWs can order appliances, toys and gadgets for their families in the Philippines.

In 2019, the Group established a foothold in Europe with a company in Spain.  In March 2020, the Group opened an office in India.

Ventaja is a fintech with a remittance license from the Philippines. The company's websites and payment platforms bridge the gap between Filipino and Indian migrant workers, and the institutions or merchants that serve them.

PayRemit is an online shopping platform for migrant workers who want to order goods and services for their loved ones back home. PayRemit accepts cash payments thru remittance counters across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

ALC provides appliance and gadget loans for the PayRemit Shop. Filipino and Indian overseas workers can apply for loan and have their orders delivered to India or Philippines.

The company operates PayRemit.IN, an e-commerce marketplace in India targeting NRIs who work in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

New Standard Holdings owns the intellectual property rights to PayRemit.

The company collects payments from agents across EU for institutions and merchants based in the Philippines and India.
